I am most interested in the use of color. The drawings or subjects are used to explore a different sense formed by color and not entirely by nature. The images range from abstract to graphic to realistic.
I have been drawing and painting since a child, mostly in oils, pen and ink, and pastel. I enjoy creating sculpture from various materials; wood, wax, stone and found objects. Sometimes the sculpture and the paintings cross over. I have also worked in rather diverse areas of the arts from graphic design to museum exhibits and lately in scenic art for the San Francisco Opera and the San Francisco Ballet.
I studied at a number of schools: Cornell with Friedl Dzubas and Jason Seley; Byam Shaw School of Drawing and Painting in London, UK; Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute School of Art in upstate NY; and the Newport (RI) Art Association Gallery and School. I received a BS in Fine Arts from State University of NY (Empire College) and a MA in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University in CA.
